The suction is gently drawn upwards by creating a vacuum over the target area of the skin. The cup may be left in place or moved around by the therapist. Cupping can help treat pain, deep scar tissues in the muscles and connective tissues, muscle knots and swelling. The technique incorporate bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters that are used to penetrate deeply into the tissues. The massage its self promotes circulation, sensory nerve perception, and lymphatic drainage which provides a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.
